What is the context for this year?

• First year of the new tuition fee and financial
  support regime for students and for roll out of
  Full Economic Costing of Research
• In the final stages of preparing for the RAE
• Reward, Reward, Reward
• Major capital programme starting to roll
• Current and future cost pressures and the ongoing
  pressure to achieve sustainability

What are the challenges for the next few years?

• Delivering a major and complex capital programme
  on budget, on time and to spec
• Practical Steps help deliver the cash flow needed
  for investment in people and facilities
• A student accommodation plan for the next ten
  years as a key part of the student experience
• A new IT strategy and roll-out of more major
  systems, including shared purchasing and
  financial information

  make the work environment positive and improve
  delivery
