Habitat

• Water
• Keep dish of water full at all times
• To maintain a moist environment, use a spray
  bottle and spray the habitat daily.
• Ground
• Wood chips, bark, and/or mulch make an ideal for
  the ground of a box turtle habitat.

Habitat

• Temperature
• A heated lamp placed on top of the habitat keeps
  the air warm.
• A heating pad underneath the habitat keeps the
  ground warm.

Feeding

• Fruit
• Turtles love to eat sweet fruit such as
  strawberries, apples, and kiwi.
• They do not like the textures of certain fruits
  (i.e. mango or cantaloupe)

Feeding

• Insects
• Turtles love to eat worms. Mealworms, earthworms,
  and superworms are good choices to feed them
  with.
• Turtles also like to eat little bugs like pill
  bugs and small crickets.

• Signs of illness
• Swollen eyes
• Loss of appetite
• Change in behavior
• Home health care
• Turtle eye drops, applied at least once daily,
  will help reduce eye swelling
