History

• Initial meeting in June of 1996 Predates
  Internet2
• Initial Focus was on EPSCoR/NSF proposal
• Submitted February of 1997
• Awarded September of 1997
• Network installation August of 1998 Contract
  with Qwest for circuits and collocation
• Connection to Abilene in October of 1998
• Connection to Commodity Internet in October of
  1998
• The Network has expanded and contracted over time.

• Native IPv6 Testing with Abilene Phased in
  project plan
• Routers to new code levels
• Native IPv6 between INPS, KSCY Abilene routers,
  and the Indiana gigapop and GPN routers
• Hope to be native by early summer
• Will retain tunnels for those who need them
