- Hookworm is an intestinal parasite that usually
causes mild diarrhea or cramps. - Hookworm infections occur mostly in tropical and
subtropical climates and are estimated to infect
about 1 billion people -- about one-fifth of the
world's population

health problems for newborns, children, pregnant
women, and persons who are malnourished.

- 1-Anemia and protein deficiency due to blood

- This infection is caused by a small, white
intestinal worm called Enterobius vermicularis
Pinworms are about the length of a staple and
live in the rectum of humans. - While an infected person sleeps, female pinworms
leave the intestines through the anus and deposit
eggs on the surrounding skin.
