MANNERS OF DRINKING

Before you drink, say

When drinking do not gulp it down at once, but
sip it in three parts.

And stop drinking, saying

3 times
Say "Bismillah", drink, stop drinking and say
"Alhamdulillah"
Say "Bismillah", drink, stop drinking saying
"Alhamdulillah"
Say "Bismillah" again, drink, stop drinking and
say "Alhamdulillah".

When drinking water remember Imam Husain (a.s.)
and his family, and their thirst in Kerbala.

When you finished drinking, ask Allah to send His
blessings on Imam Husain (a.s.), his family and
companions, and curse on his murderers and
enemies.
Assalamo alal Husain va ala aouladil Husain, va
ala ashabil Husain
Ô Allah! Bring curse upon Imam Husain A.S.s
enemies!

Try not to drink from a glass that has a crack.
If you do, do not drink from the side that has
the crack.

During the day drink standing up

and at night drink sitting down.

Do not drink too much.

Nothing is better to drink than water.

All creatures of Allah drink water to survive.

Allah says in the Holy Qur'an in Suratul Anbiya,
Verse 30 "We made every living thing from water."
