• Provides free medical care and shelter to
  mentally ill destitute women and reunites them
  with their families.
• In the past 10 years - rehabilitation of over 600
  women, Currently 400 women are being looked after
  at banyan.
• Asha is working on vocational skills to integrate
  the women back to the society. Vocational skills
  helps inmates build their confidence, helps
  them to earn a living and forms an important part
  of their treatment as 'Occupational therapy'.
• The Banyan has a 24 Hr helpline. An in-house
  clinic that caters to patients even outside of
  the Banyan.

• The vocational training units exist and form an
  important part in the lives of the women and in
  their therapy.
• Banyan wants us to support the Canteen/Bakery
  unit or the Block printing unit. We will be
  receiving details on the Canteen/Bakery unit in
  a few days.
• Please pick up a copy of the detailed report.
• NOTE When in Chennai, I had also visited Seva
  Chakkara Samajam. I would like to present the
  site-visit report for the orphanage in the next
  meeting.
