Diaphragm

• Separates chest from abdomen
• Main muscle of respiration
• Goes down? lungs fill up

• Inhale/Exhale through either or both
• 12-15 breaths/min average resting rate

• Sinus Cavities warm up air

• 2 tubes at top of throat

• Surrounded by arterioles (tiny arteries)
• Allows for DIFFUSION
• O2 from alveoli to blood
• CO2 from blood to alveoli
