Back Ground
  • The name ubiquitous computing was coined by Mark
    Weiser(Father of Ubiquitous Computing).
  • A technology trying to embed the PCs into
everyday objects to make the PCs invisible.
  • UbiquitousBeing or seeming to be everywhere at
    the same time(omnipresent).
  • Later this was renamed as pervasive computing.
  • PervasiveCapability to spread throughought.
  • Meaning Spreading the computation power into
    everything around us.

3
Evolution of pervasive computing
4
Characteristics of Pervasive computing
  • Use of Smart Spaces.
  • Smart space A space filled with
    intelligent computing
    infrastructure
  • Invisibility Minimal User distraction.
  • Localized Scalability Density of Interactions.
  • Masking Uneven conditioning Dealing with
    different environments.

7
Challenges to implement Pervasive computing
  • User Intent
  • Cyber Foraging
  • Adaptation Strategy
  • High Level Energy Management
  • Client Thickness
  • Privacy and Trust

8
Conclusion
  • A futuristic technology which can change the feel
and look of Distributed systems in the near
    future.
  • Lots of supporting technologies need to be
    developed.
