Crunching Numbers.
  • Used BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) to identify
    a list of nontraditional male and female
    occupations
  • Cross walked those occupations with the Georgia
    Pathways
  • Determined the of males and females in each
    pathway (used Phase I CIP s to identify pathways
    and aligned courses with pathways from Phase II
    and III to determine numbers and percentiles)
  • Determined, based on the current information, a
    benchmark/baseline to attain Perkins IV
    indicator 6S 1 and 6S 2

Accountability Evaluation Definitions
  • Nontraditional Career means occupations or fields
    of work for which individuals from one gender
    comprise less than 25 of the individuals
    employed in each such occupation or field of
    work.
  • Participant is a student enrolled in career and
    technical education (CTE) courses.
  • Concentrator is a student who took at least three
    career technical education courses in a
    particular program area (conentration) during
    his/her high school career.

NOTE LEA will focus on increasing numbers/ in
identified pathways.

  • Calculate gender data in the identified
    nontraditional pathways offered in your
    system/school (handout)
  • Distribute and analyze system/school data to CTAE
    instructors, counselors and administrators in
    system/school
  • Redeliver workshop information to all CTAE
    instructors and counselors in system/school
  • Develop a plan to increase nontraditional
    participation and completion by ____ or number
    of students annually in available identified
    pathways.
