  • Stamens
  • Petals
  • Sepals

  • Innermost part of the flower
  • Female reproductive structure
  • Is composed of more complex parts, the stigma,
    style, and carpel's

Stamens
  • Male reproductive structure
  • Many stamens surround the pistil
  • Home to the anther and filament.
  • This is where pollen is collected

Petals
  • Surrounds the stamens
  • Are brightly colored to attract animals to carry
    out pollination
  • They make the flowers smell

Sepals
  • Outermost part of the flower
  • Protect the petals, stamens, and pistil from rain
    or insects
  • Look like small leafs

Perfect or Imperfect?
  • Flowers can have either male parts, all female
    parts, or a combination.
  • All male or female flowers are called imperfect
  • Flowers that have both male and female parts are
    perfect
