- Grants
- The East Windsor Education Foundation provides
grants to educators in the East Windsor Public
Schools. - Proposals for funding should not supplant items
that are covered in the existing town or school
budgets. - The Foundation will consider the following
criteria when reviewing each application
Innovation, Educational Merit, Student Impact and
Sustainability. - In May 2007 the East Windsor Education Foundation
awarded its first grants to improve writing in
Kindergarten and motivate music students in Sixth
and Seventh grade.

Grant Awards Broad Brook School Kindergarten
Teacher, Amy Lupoli, will lead the Kindergarten
team in revising their Writers Workshop to
increase student achievement. The Kindergarten
teachers attended a Writers Workshop conference
presented by Julie Lay in October 2007 and are
implementing a procedure for tracking and
assessing student growth over time. Students will
also have age-appropriate references and a
self-assessment to use during Writers Workshop.

- Grant Awards
- East Windsor Middle School Music Teacher, C.
Tracie Shutter, will introduce Sixth and Seventh
grade students to playing the electric guitar.
Currently students only have access to an
acoustic guitar. By incorporating the electric
guitar, students will be motivated by hearing how
their playing sounds like the music they listen
to on the radio.
