Access Code for MasteringPhysics

• Three ways to get access code
• Buy a new copy of the textbook and code is shrink
  wrapped with book
• Buy an e-book access code through Uni Bookshop
• Obtain a code through Student Support Office
  (Thu-Fri 12-2pm all of week 2 from 12-2pm)
• First two options are preferable as they provide
  access to an e-book (electronic) version of the
  textbook. Third option just provides access to
  MasteringPhysics for doing assignments.

Assignments

• All three FND and all six REG/ADV assignments use
  MasteringPhysics.
• Also Introduction to MasteringPhysics
  assignment to get you familiar with system.
  Worth half the value of a full assignment.
  Excellent practice in using the system.
• All count to assignment mark of 5 (FND) or 10
  (REG ADV). Deadline dates are posted on MP
  class home page and in the module notes.
• Assignments are due on Friday at 7pm, with
  maximum mark decreasing to zero in seven hours
  after deadline. Available Monday not quite two
  weeks before deadline (sometimes earlier if
  possible). An announcement is made in the
  MasteringPhysics discussion group when the
  assignment is posted.

Assignments (cont)

• Eight questions in each MP assignment, all to be
  completed
• Eight attempts allowed for each input (but 3
  wrong answer penalty). Can also give up at any
  time and display answer (but no marks for it).
• A bonus of 2 for not using the hints (but is it
  worth it!!)
• You get immediate feedback on your marks
