What are Glaciers?

• A Glacier is a giant mass of ice that flows
  slowly over land in cold polar regions in high
  mountain valleys.

Different Glaciers.

• There are two kinds of glaciers,continental
  glaciers and valley glaciers. Continental
  glaciers are broad, really thick sheets of ice.
  That cover vast areas of land near Earths polar
  regions. Valley Glaciers are long, narrow bodies
  of ice that fill high mountain valleys.

How Glaciers form.
Glaciers begin to form when more snow falls
during the winter. Excess snow falls and creates
pressure which makes it a solid.

How Glaciers Move

• Glaciers flow down slopes because of the pull of
  gravity. The ice crystals deep within the glacier
  glide over one another as a result of the
  pressure of the surface layers.
