COMPANY PROFILE

• Ghana Heavy Equipment Ltd. (GHEL) is a limited
  liability company wholly owned by the Government
  of Ghana. Its main business has been in the sales
  and services of earth-moving equipment and
  agricultural machinery which spans over three
  decades. Until recently, GHEL was the sole
  distributor of Komatsu earth-moving equipment for
  the mining, construction and timber industries in
  Ghana.
• Our mission is to provide reliable equipment and
  excellent after-sales services to all sectors of
  the economy particularly the mining,
  construction and agricultural sectors.
• Our vision is to emerge as a leader in the
  sales/services of earth-moving equipment in Ghana
  and the West African sub-region.
• Due to the importance and peculiarity of the
  mining sector, a subsidiary company has been set
  up known as GHEL Mining Services Limited to
  enable GHEL offer direct and efficient
  after-sales services to that sector .

  Engineers, Mechanics, Administrators and other
  supporting staff.

• It is GHELs human resource policy to provide
  adequate training for its staff locally and
  internationally.

PRODUCT SUPPORT

• WORKSHOP FACILITIES
• GHEL has a well-equipped workshop in Obuasi for
  engine, transmission and hydraulic pump
  rebuilding. The major facilities are
• Hydraulic test bench
• Engine dynamometer which can test engines up
  to 1500HP
• Fuel injection pump test bench with additional
  facilities for electronic governor
  injection pump testing
• Surface grinder for re-surfacing engine
  blocks and cylinder heads
• The Kumasi workshop specializes in undercarriage
  re-building. We have track press and automatic
  welding machines for re-building track rollers,
  idlers and track shoes.

• FIELD/SERVICE TEAMS
• GHEL has the necessary manpower in place to offer
  efficient after-sales service delivery. It,
  therefore, has field/service teams in all the
  branches to meet current and new challenges.

PARTS OPERATIONS

• WAREHOUSE
• GHEL has one centralized warehouse in Kumasi
  supported by satellite warehouses in the other
  branches of Accra, Obuasi and Tamale.
• SALES SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE
• GHEL has segmented the country into two zones
  with Parts Sales and Support Representative
  (PSSR) heading each zone to promote aggressive
  machine and spare parts sales.
