Lots going on in HULL

• Spear head PCT centre for regeneration
• LIFT in place
• PCT surplus - 12M but acute trust in financial
  deficit (30m reduced to 15m - focussed on
  turnaround not cross community improvement)
• People stay, except young upwardly mobile!
• Fantastic technology City call centres, cable
  and wireless, attracts new investment

  (cardiac, dermatology and diabetes) - based on
  1990s Welsh Health Office planning board
  groupings
• Health gain areas focus on health gain, resource
  effectiveness and people centredness wider than

  improvement and change

What have we learnt

• Relationships are key - need an honest broker
• People dont like bureaucracy that ISIP has the
  risk of bringing keep focussed on why we are
  doing this not the bits of paper!
• Keep up the pace
• Involve clinicians in what clinicians do best
• Patients are fantastic at service improvement
