Modality Principle

• Concept - Separate incoming information into
  auditory and visual channel is superior to
  cramming all the information into the visual
  channel to reduce overload of one channel
• Exceptions - Expensive to reduce, quiet
  environment needed, technical constraints,
  printed text for memory support
