- Every Test is Aligned to the Illinois Learning
Standards - NCLB requires reading and mathematics to be
assessed in all grades 3-8 and 11 - NCLB requires science to be assessed to be
assessed in grades 4, 7, and 11 - Illinois writing will be assessed in grades 5, 8,
and 11 in 2007. Grade 6 will be added in 2008.
Grade 3 will be added in 2009.

- In spring 2006, students in grades 3 through 8
will take the ISAT in reading and mathematics. - Students in grades 4 and 7 will take the ISAT in
science. - ISBE offers Power Point Presentations in reading,

172006 ISAT Testing Schedule
- New for 2006 All test sessions are a minimum of
45 minutes in length. Any student who is actively
engaged in testing after 45 minutes has elapsed
will be allowed up to an additional 10 minutes to
complete that test session. More details about
how to administer this extra time will be
forthcoming in the ISAT District and School
Coordination Manual and the ISAT Test
Administration Manual.
Students with IEPs are still allowed extended
time as set forth in their IEP.
