Title: TWENTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
1TWENTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
2Jesus said to them
3I am the living bread which came down from
heaven if any one eats of this bread, he will
live for ever and the bread which I shall give
for the life of the world is my flesh
4The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying,
"How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
5So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to
you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man
and drink his blood, you have no life in you
6He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has
eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last
day
7For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is
drink indeed
8He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides
in me, and I in him.
9As the living Father sent me, and I live because
of the Father, so he who eats me will live
because of me.
10This is the bread which came down from heaven,
not such as the fathers ate and died he who eats
this bread will live for ever."
11- The Gospel of John6 5-11
- Jesus said to the crowds I am the living
bread that came down from heaven whoever eats
this bread will live forever and the bread that
I will give is my flesh for the life of the
world. - The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying,
How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
Jesus said to them, Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and
drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has
eternal life, and I will raise him on the last
day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is
true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my
blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the
living Father sent me and I have life because of
the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will
have life because of me. This is the bread that
came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who
ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will
live forever.
