Course Description
  • This course is an introduction to business
    applications of computers. The main focus of the
    course is on the use of spreadsheets and
    databases to help solve problems.

Policies Grading
  • Lab assignments - 20 (200 points)
  • Homework/pop quiz - 20 (200 points)
  • Midterm - 20 (200 points)
  • Final Project - 10 (100 points)
  • Final Exam - 30 (300 points)
  • Satisfactory completion of the final project and
    final exam are required to pass the course

Policies Make-ups
  • It is the policy of this course that no make-ups
    will be allowed for homework, labs, quizzes or
    exams. It is your responsibility to know when
    assignments are due and when the exams will be
    given. In some cases exceptions for extraordinary
    circumstances may be made.
  • Contact your Instructor for all matters,
    Notification must be made and confirmed prior to
    the assignment due date by e-mail, phone or in
    person.
  • In a case where you are unable to notify the
    proper person (ex. documented medical emergency),
    notification must be made as soon as possible

Policies Labs
  • Attendance in lab is required
  • The pre-lab assignment is due at the beginning of
    the lab class period
  • Due dates of In-Lab follow up assignments will be
    announced
  • No credit is given for late submission of either
    the pre-lab or follow-up assignments

  • Students may NOT work together on graded
    assignments. This includes your weekly lab
    assignment and homeworks.
  • Submitted materials (lab files) must be entirely
    your own work.
  • Your instructor reserves the right to ask you to
    explain your approach to the problem, the
    equations used, etc. Your response may affect
    your grade on the lab or homework in question.
  • You may work on non-graded problems together or
    discuss high level strategies for solving
    problems. See syllabus for further details on
    appropriate inappropriate forms of assistance.

  • If you work from home on pre-labs
  • Save your files in Office 2003 format
  • E-mail the files back to yourself as attachments
    or use CD or memory stick
  • Run the submit tool from a CSE lab for submission
    before the deadline

  • You must attend lab to receive credit!
