2The ERTMS Users Group
- On the 1 August 1995, three European railways
formed an EEIG with the aim of developing the
ERTMS specifications and testing the new system
on pilot projects. - Later on five other railways joined the group,
actively supporting the overall process by means
of technical work, trial sites and commercial
applications.

11Conclusions
- SRS230 is a stable specification which can be,
and is, implemented today - A stable specification does not mean that it is
100 error free. Bug-fixing will continue,
together with the addition of new
functionalities, in a co-ordinated way that
provides downward compatibility - The Users Group is ready to continue its role in
the further evolution of ERTMS
