How Abstract is Media Policy

• Completely Abstract Approach - Give me a sidebar.
  PERIOD.
• Conceptual Approach (nondraft-rosen) -
  Parameterized Templates. I want a remote learning
  call with QA sidebar.
• Logical Approach (draft-mahy) - Build this
  logical feature graph. Connect these logical
  participants to these logical outputs
• Direct DSP Approach (MGCP / Megaco) - Right now,
  change the mix so this RTP stream contributes to
  this DSP

How much of media policy depends on conference
policy/control

• What is a subconference?
• Proposal Its a conversation. Everyone in a
  subconference have the potential to receive all
  the media contributed to the subconference.
  Media Policy is how you render and select from
  that media.
• When you create a subconference
• Who is authorized to do what?
• Who is in the Roster for that subconference

How to distinguish Media from non-media policy

• Does the behavior modify the roster? If so, it
  is probably conference policy.
• Is it media specific or trigger media-specific
  behavior? If so, it probably
• Example Is mute media or conference
  manipulation?
• Conference Policy Mute Prevent user from
  contributing ANY media
• Media Policy Mute Set Audio Volume to Zero, Set
  Video Screen to Blank, Do not display text
