RWD Heat Pump Controllers
2
Heat pump Controllers
  • Why?
  • Rapid growth in the use of heat-pump technology
    throughout North America
  • Sell applications, not components
  • Increase sales of valves and damper actuators
  • Wholesalers purchasing competitors controllers
    (T775, A350)
  • Increase RWD range
  • RWD suitable for commercial applications

3
RWD44U
  • Standard RWD design
  • New LCD with clear heat/cool output status
  • New Digital input options
  • Alarm inputs
  • Suitable for Ni1000, Pt1000 or 0-10vdc inputs
  • Heat/cool or reversing valve/compressor config
  • Flexible output delay times
  • Usable defaults

Standard model
Our standard solution for commercial heat
pumps. Easy and flexible settings

RWD45U
  • Standard RWD44U design
  • Same auxiliary functions
  • LCD with monitoring of all inputs/outputs
  • Three universal inputs
  • New OpenAir economizer control
  • No need for hi/low limit thermostats
  • A single active O/A sensor can be used for a
    group of controllers

Economizer model

Economizer model
  • RWD45U
  • Standard RWD44U format with LCD
  • Button or software tool setting
  • Air to Air / Air to Water Heat-pumps
  • (4) DOs and (1) AO configurable
  • Suitable for single, dual and triple compressor
    units
  • Economizer control or 2nd independent (Y) loop
  • New OpenAir economizer sequence
  • 24vac

22
RWD45U - OpenAir economizer control
Remember the days when you could just open a
window?
Why use cooling energy when the outside air
temperature is suitable for cooling? The OpenAir
economizer feature simply shifts the 1st cooling
stage and replaces it with a 0 -10vdc cooling
output. This occurs only when cooling is required
and the outside temperature is suitable.
Introduce outside air via damper
actuators. Economizer control is not a new
innovation, however the RWD45U OpenAir solution
is an easily implemented and understood concept.
Affordable

RWD45U - OpenAir economizer control
Eco Parameters Min X3 limit Max X3 limit Eco -
Xp Y min Y max
Economy mode is active only when cooling is
required and the X2 temperature is within the
maximum and minimum limits.
24
RWD45U - OpenAir economizer control
Main benefits Improved air quality Reduced
compressor running time Reduced wear on
compressor, condenser fan etc Reduce installation
costs 1. Additional outside air limit
thermostats not required 2. A single active
outside air sensor could be used for multiple
controllers Reduced energy consumption - Save We
can offer our customers a complete package

RWD for commercial applications
  • RWD must be recommended for commercial
    applications
  • Protection against unauthorized adjustment,
equipment damage and nuisance service calls.
  • Optimum comfort and energy savings
  • MMI should not be available for occupants
  • Fan speed control should only be applied to
    residential or small room applications
