  • To understand needs of newcomers who relocated to
    work at NCRC
  • 45 responses
  • Staff developed a similar survey for Council,
    Boards/Commissions, and Rotary.
  • As informal comparison of feedback from existing
    residents who are engaged citizens
  • 57 responses (7 Council, 7 Rotary, remainder from
    boards/commissions)

  • 70 of community (non-NCRC) respondents have
    lived here 16 years
  • 33 were born in Kannapolis
  • 45 of NCRC respondents were born outside of the
    U.S.
  • India, Philippines, Bangladesh, China, Cameroon,
    Ukraine, Europe, Egypt, S. Korea, Canada,
    Austria, Romania
  • Many NCRC respondents moved from Northeast,
    elsewhere in NC
  • 55 of NCRC respondents are NOT Kannapolis
    residents

  • Quality of Life - Human Capital Recruitment -
    Economic Development
  • When people come here and dont find what they
    are looking for, they will choose (and already
    have) to live somewhere else.
  • 55 of NCRC respondents are NOT Kannapolis
    residents
  • This number will only increase with time unless
    significant changes/growth occur.
