- I believe that
- You have to have great looking displays at all
times this is your best form of advertising - You only have a few seconds to capture someones
attention and keep it. That is why I think it is
so important to have the best displays and
marketing tools in place at any given time. - Trying new things, being creative and stepping
out of the box will allow for more unique window
displays - Knowing your target market is key in being a
successful retail organization - It takes hard work and understanding among your
team in order to be successful and effective

to use my creativity in the visual merchandising

- During my internship I was responsible
- for completing a number of learning
- objectives, some of them were the design and
production of a large window display, interior
visual merchandising, sales event preparation,
dressing mannequins and dimensional forms,
sitting in on a buying function, as well as
developing my public relations skills.

13Fashion Merchandising Trend Forecasting
- This class was an introduction to the
merchandising function emphasizing fashion as a
process and product. The key concepts were the
fashion cycle, fashion adoption, production and
distribution of fashion goods and services. These
examples are my trend forecasting and market
research.

- This course focused on the apparel design
process. With emphasis on the aesthetic
component, including application of art elements
and principles to visual design. Fashion as a

- This course focused on the development and
production of textile and apparel designs and
patterns using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

20Advanced CAD
- This course focuses on apparel design and
production techniques using more advanced
computer systems and CAD software such as Kaledo
print, weave and style. I also worked on
E-Portfolio development and CAD related career
exploration. Here are some examples of prints I
cleaned and worked on to perfect the look of it.

- This course emphasized the importance of
standardized testing and quality control of
textiles and fabrics for a specific end-use and
serviceability. Here is an example of my
technical data sheet that represents the
structural and performance attributes of my
fabric that was tested in several areas for the
end-use of a summer skirt.

- This course focuses on the fundamentals of the
fashion buying function, practices, procedures,
and techniques including merchandising
calculations and computer applications. Here is

Document as well as the memo I prepared for the
