Challenges

• Low enrollment rates 1/3 of targetted 300 have
  been identified, screened and enrolled
• Stigma related to HIV/AIDS
• Drug sharing between clients
• Competing alternative therapies
• Misconceptions about ARVs

Lessons Learnt

• Availability of ARVs can assist in stigma
  reduction
• Community acceptance is a slow process
• ARVs provision must be accompanied by a targeted
  awareness campaign
