Who are we?
  • The Partnership, one of several set up throughout
Wales, is an independent group of social care
providers in South West Wales, including
    representatives from
  • The Independent and Voluntary sectors
  • Social Services Departments of Neath Port Talbot,
    Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire local
    authorities
  • Colleges and Independent Training Providers

Where do we operate?
  • Our activities range over all of South West Wales
an area based on regions defined by the WDA and
    ELWa.
  • The area includes Neath Port Talbot, Swansea,
    Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire

4
Purpose
  • To establish a forum for the discussion and
exploration of key workforce issues relating to
    the Social Care Sector,
  • Determining strategies and processes for
addressing these issues on a regional basis
  • To implement national initiatives on a regional
    basis

Purpose
  • Providing a concerted regional voice on national
    Social Care matters,
  • Acting as a reference point and body for the
consultation process with WAG and UK Government.

6
What does this mean in practice?
  • Development of an Annual Conference - so that
everyone has an opportunity to identify the
priorities they feel are important and also to
contribute ideas to how the Partnership can help
    address those priorities.
  • Membership is free and is open to anyone who
has an interest in the Social Care Sector in
    South West Wales.

7
What does this mean in practice?
  • To make sure that the business plan is
implemented, a Strategic Group meets every six
    weeks.
  • The Strategic Group sets up project groups and
sub groups as necessary to take forward some of
the detailed work contained within the business
