Introduction

• Digital storytelling uses the available
  technology, and combines it with words and
  narration, with the final outcome being an
  interesting multi-media mix of images and voice

Objective

• To build a digital storyteller that will help
  kids to put their ideas together and frame a
  story of their own
• To provide kids a creative environment
• To improve their cognitive skills and at the same
  time allow them to have fun.

HP StoryCast (Example)

• A digital storytelling service.
• Presented in the form of slideshow of pictures
  selected by user along with the digital recording
  of the users voice as a background.
• Sends the whole message via email, HTTP or MMS.

Project Ideas

• Allow users to upload files stored on their
  computer and rearrange the pictures in any order.
• Either type in text or record voice for each
  picture.
• Provided with a list of avatars from which they
  can choose
• The avatar will not only narrate the story but
  also keep the user engaged by providing tips and
  suggestions.

• To make it as user friendly as possible (kids)
• To manage picture upload, voice recording and
  creation of various avatars.
• To make avatars smarter.
• To add Visual effects like presenting 3D-views,
  clipping.
• Must be easy and intuitive.
