The Growth of Womens Hockey
  • There are limited opportunities for women within
    the sport of Ice hockey (Gap between minor
    leagues to National levels).
  • It wasnt until 1992 that Womens Hockey was
    accepted as an Olympic Sport.
  • However the true time when Womens hockey really
    sky-rocketed was during the 1998 Winter Games in
    Nagano when the USA defeated Canada in the gold
    medal game.
  • Since 1990 womens hockey participation has
    increased approximately 5 fold.
