• Indication from NSF/DOE that a bid for additional
  resources (i.e. on top of MC and MuCool) at the
  level of 2M - 2.5M can be entertained
• US collaboration, in discussion with NSF/DOE,
  identified/proposed a MICE phase 0
• One spectrometer solenoid (provided by US)
• Instrumentation
• Absorber

Preparation for GW 2/3

• Draft response to GW 1 recommendations in
  preparation (PD, KL)
• Meeting with GW Panel chairman (M. Cox) last
  Friday
• Explained US situation
• Implication that at present MICE partners are
• UK, US, Jp, CH Italian situation to be clarified
• Suggested that GW 2/3 should consider
• MICE Muon Beam and associated infrastructure
• Equipment/development required to carry out Phase
  0
• RD/prototyping that is required to
• Reduce risk
• Maintain schedule (really still risk management)

• Next steps
• Full MICE paper (Lindsay Marcer) for November
