15Transitions 2 Course
The scope of the project is to build computer
technology and sheltered English as Second
Language abilities within our teaching staff here
in ABE. Wed like to model research based
teaching methods and techniques to 3 other ESL
teachers to build the capacity of their teaching
abilities and have a replicable curriculum packet
that could be shared with our peers throughout
the state of NM. Â We hope that this team approach
will strengthen our practice and allow us to have
teachers with ESL/Computer software skills lead
the next cohort of learners through transitions
courses.
- The course objectives include
- Microsoft Word and Excel practical
applications and skills - Computer software and hardware vocabulary and
usage - Learn to Learn Note Taking Techniques
- Process Based Learning
- Goal setting
- Business Writing Skills
- Time Management
- Conflict Resolution
- Phone etiquette/messages
- Writing oral responses to workplace situations
