Title: Others Make Us Better
1Others Make Us Better!
As iron sharpens iron, a friend sharpens a
friend. Proverbs 2717, NLT
2Why Should I Grow?
So Jesus grew both in height and in wisdom, and
He was loved by God and by all who knew Him.
Luke 252, NLT
3Because I would look WEIRD if I didn't.
"Tell Aaron that in all future generations, his
descendants who have physical defects will not
qualify to offer food to their God. No one who
has a defect may come near to me, whether he is
blind or lame, stunted or deformed, or has a
broken foot or hand, or has a humped back or is a
dwarf, or has a defective eye, or has oozing
sores or scabs on his skin, Leviticus 2117-20
4How Can I Grow?
5By investing some ENERGY.
Watch your step. Use your head. Make the most
of every chance you get. These are desperate
times!! Don't live carelessly, unthinkingly.
Make sure you understand what the Master wants.
Ephesians 515-17, The Message
6By not being a big BABY about it.
- Make a careful exploration of who you are and the
work you have been given, and then sink yourself
into that. Don't be impressed with yourself.
Don't compare yourself with others. Each of you
must take responsibility for doing the creative
best you can with your own life. - Galatians 63-4, The Message
7By being willing to sharpen OTHERS!
- Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into
sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your
critical comments for yourself. You might be
needing forgiveness before the day's out. Stoop
down and reach out to those who are oppressed.
Share their burdens and so complete Christ's law.
- If you think you are too good for that,
- you are badly deceived.
- Galatians 61-2 The Message
