FINANCIAL AIDGRANTS
  • Federal Pell Grant grant ranges from no
    eligibility to 5350
  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity
    Grant priority to lower income families grant
    range from 0 up to 2,000 (varies by school)

  • State Need Grant award based on income and
    family size grant range from 0 to about 2,500
  • Tuition Waivers based on income award can be
    up to the cost of tuition

FINANCIAL AIDLOANS
  • Federal Perkins Loan
  • Low interest subsidized loan 5
  • Awarded first to highest need students
  • Amount determined by school
  • Limited amount of funds at each school
  • Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized and Federal
    Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized
  • Loans are funds that must be paid back
  • Subsidized interest is deferred while student is
    in school 4.5
  • Unsubsidized interest is not deferred while
    student is in school 6.8

EMPLOYMENT

APPLICATION PROCESS
  • Parent and student both request PIN numbers
  • www.pin.ed.gov
  • Complete the FAFSA on the WEB worksheet
  • www.fafsa.gov
  • Submit electronic application after January 1
  • Application is processed looking at income,
    family size, in college, etc
  • Student will receive e-mail regarding information
    submitted to check for accuracy.
  • School will receive electronic report.
  • School and student will exchange information.
    Contact individual schools to see what is
    required after FAFSA submission (tax returns,
    verification worksheets, verification of incomes,
    etc)
