4Virtualization in client computing
- AppSense believes that the impact of
virtualization on client computing will be
profound - It will change the task from one of dealing with
thousands of machines, all different, to managing
a limited number images - The key to this revolution will be
virtualizations ability to manage each of the
constituents of the client image separately to
Standardize software images, deliver better
service and lower costs - This will drive a massive improvement in service
delivery as compatibility issues and user
introduced problems can be eliminated

26Configuring the Citrix AAC and AppSense
- This case study uses the example of a user
connecting to a corporate published desktop using
Windows XP with the intention of running Mozilla
FireFox. - If the user connects to the corporate desktop, an
AAC scan will return true if he has the Windows
Firewall configured with No exceptions allowed.
- AppSense Application Manager will validate the
result of this scan. If the result of the scan
was true the user will be allowed to execute
the Mozilla FireFox web browser.
