General Description and use with AMS

• Internet based multi-conferencing system to
  facilitate communication between researchers,
  NASA personnel, and ISS crew.
• Allows remote users to communicate with just a PC
  and headsets.
• Developed at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC)
  to support the International Space Station (ISS)
  communications.
• Allows secure monitoring and communication using
  Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology.
• Low cost alternative for teleconferencing.

Capabilities of IVoDS

• IVoDS provides GUI
• Monitor up to 8 loops/conferences simultaneously.
• Can talk on 1 of the 8 loops
• Volume control and mute on individual loops
• User can select from authorized subset of
  available IVoDS loops/conferences
• Lighted talk traffic per loop
• Differentiate between talk and monitor privileges
• List users on logged into conferences

• Initial software usage agreements signed by MIT
  and accounts provided by MSFC (June-4-2003)
• Software installed on MIT windows machine.
• Successful test run between MIT (Kate Scholberg,
  Gianpaolo Carosi) and
• MSFC (Susan Best, Kelvin Nichols) on
  June-6-2003.
• Tests included Monitoring various voice loops.
• Talking to various NASA personnel on
  different voice loops.
