Title: CMADESKTOP Installation and Configuration for PC
1CMA-DESKTOP Installation and Configuration for PC
(Windows) Platform
2- Before we start
- Lets check your equipment!
- CMA will work on both PC desktops, laptops and
Macs with boot camp, fusion or parallels and
Windows installed. A laptop would be preferable,
due to the built in microphone, and portability.
Also, many laptops have a built in camera. - The PC that is being used by the end user. As
you can see from what I copied from Polycoms
release notes a PC with anything less than 2.0
GHz P4 or 1.4 GHz Pentium M will not allow
content to be seen. Newer PCs with Duo
processors will handle the CMA application much
better. - Router there could be an
issue with some routers. If they have a home
user on a 10.X, 192.168.X or 172.16.X network
behind a router with a public IP the router has
to do the H.323 ALG. Certain D-Link routers have
H.323 ALG but it doesn't work for H.239. An
alternative is to use a VPN client to create a
tunnel to the network with CMA. - Once you have checked your equipment then you are
ready to begin the installation! - Lets start by clicking on, or copying and
pasting into your browser the Polycom CMA
