Super-Delegates and the problems they present

• Either Federal elected officials, governors, past
  presidents, party activists are all considered
  super-delegates.
• 800 delegates can change outcome of election
• Delegates can be influenced by personal
  relationships and future consequences
• Not representative or responsible to the people

Proposed solution

• Leave state election system untouched
• Divide U.S. into 6 regions by population
• Limit super-delegates to 600 total
• Divide 600 delegates equally between proposed
  regions
• Regional conventions held to decide casting of
  super-delegate votes.

• The current number of super-delegates is

Pre-regional convention set-up

• Each party within the states legislative branch
  will vote for their candidates. Within one week
  of the closing of their states election.

• Each state legislature, through a system chosen
  by that states party, elects 100 participants to
  go to the regional convention

• Run by national party
• Participants are required to vote
  representatively of their state legislatures
  decision
• Candidates to attain viability at the convention
  must gain 30 percent of the vote if viability is
  not obtained those votes must be recast for
  viable candidates.
• Super-delegates are assigned to viable candidates
  based on percentage

• Provides a more representative method for using
  super-delegates that allows the people to be
  represented and gives the national party the
  proper amount of oversight in choosing their
  presidential candidate

• Super-delegates regulated and held responsible to
  the people
