• Latin notation X, s denotes operations
  performed on sample data
• Greek notation m, s, S denotes operations
  performed on population data

• means add the individual case
  scores up

• Data, or
• Analytic methods results
• The number of variables being analyzed at one
  time is described by
• Univariate (one at a time)

• Multivariate (three or more)
