- EIP started 12 years ago as a Pilot Program
- Funded at 450,000 in 1997 (1st full year)
- Expanded following Quality Child Care
Protection Act of 2000 - Growth in funding to 9 million in 2008

- Awarded 67.9 million in early childhood
scholarships - Issued scholarships for over 115,000 courses,
trainings, conferences, and credentials - Assisted over 40,000 providers across New York
State

Eligibility Criteria
21Eligibility Criteria for EIP
- To be eligible for EIP, all applicants must
- Work in a child care facility regulated by NYS
OCFS or New York City Department of Health (NYC
DCCs only) - Be direct care staff (e.g. providers, asst.
teachers, group leaders) - or
- Supervisory staff (e.g. directors, site
supervisors)

- To be eligible for EIP, applicants must
- Provide all required documentation with each
application - Complete, signed application/agreement
- License/Registration or paystub from last 8 weeks
- Most recent federal tax return
- Submit complete application before deadline

training goals - EIP Scholarships issued at up to 55 per hour
