Read Genesis 1
  • Using pastels create a mosaic or tile frieze that
    depicts the wonder, beauty and variety of
    Creation in the chronological order described in
    the Bible

Look at other examples of the story in different
Bibles
  • How are they different?
  • Do the illustrations vary?
  • Are they trying to get across a different message?

Lesson 2
  • We will read these Psalms from the Old Testament
  • Psalm 8 verses 3 and 4
  • Psalm 19 verse 1
  • Psalm 104
  • Psalm 136 verses 1 to 9
  • Psalm 147 verses 1 and 4 to 9 and 15 to 18

Create some music/drama/mime oror song
  • Choose a psalm we have just read and either on
    your own or with a partner be creative with it,
    use one of the above to express thanksgiving and
    celebration
  • Take 10 minutes to discuss this and try it out
  • Prepare to share your expression with others

Lesson 3
  • Explore the Christian idea that the whole of
    Creation celebrates and expresses thankfulness to
    God especially at Harvest Festival time.
  • Look again at some of the Psalms we read last
    week about God as Creator.

    versions
  • Talk to the person next to you about
  • What is the Creator like? Male or female?
  • How does the Creator appear? Why do they
  • make the world? How do they do it? What
  • is in the beginning? What happens to the
  • Creator after making the world? In what order are
  • things made? How is the world described? Why
  • are man and woman made? Who came first? What are
    they
  • expected to do? What are their responsibilities?

    Why is it in the Bible?

  • Look at these pieces of Art which show the stages
    of Creation
  • Could you, in the style of the Artist, draw the
    missing picture?
  • Look at the colours, style, textures, meaning of
    the Art work and try to do something similar
