Baptism
 2We Walk A New Life
- A result of a new condition (Eph 21)
 - You were dead now you are alive!
 - One is a new creature (2 Cor. 517)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new
creation old things have passed away behold,

- Before baptism, one walks according to the
course of this world (Eph 22) - He notes this is how they ONCE walked
 - Course of this world ? I John 215-17
 - A glaring contrast in walks Eph 417-20
 - Worlds walk is a futile walk
 - Worlds walk is without the life of God
 - Christian walks to righteousness and holiness!

 - A glaring contrast in walks Eph 417-20
 - Walks as light, not darkness! (Eph 58)

For you were once darkness, but now you are
light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
 6We Walk A New Life

course of this world (Eph 22) - He notes this is how they ONCE walked
 - Course of this world ? I John 215-17
 - A glaring contrast in walks Eph 417-20
 - Walks as light, not darkness! (Eph 58)
 - Our walk is in a totally different direction!
(I Pet. 41-5)
  7We Serve A New Master
- We cease serving the devil and turn to serving
the Lord! (Eph 22) - The prince of this world (John 1231 844)
 - Those outside Christ are his captives, doing
his will! (2 Tim. 226)
And that they may come to their senses and
escape the snare of the devil, having been taken
captive by him to do his will.

the Lord! (Eph 22) - The prince of this world (Jon 1231 844)
 - Those outside Christ are his captives, doing
his will! (2 Tim. 226) - Pauls calling Acts 2615-18
 - Pauls point You ONCE served him, but not
anymore!
  9We Serve A New Master
- No longer serve sin but righteousness!
 - Remember your baptism?
 - YOU DIED TO SIN! (Romans 614-18)
 - We see the outcome of our lives changing!
(Rom 621-23) - We may encounter new problems
 - Satan now has to work to get you!
 - We are at war! (I Pet. 58 Eph 612)

  10We Have Changed Relationships
- Some relationships change when one is made
alive! (Eph 22b-3) - They ONCE conducted themselves among the sons
of disobedience - This change should be no surprise!

  11We Have Changed Relationships
- Relationships can be our souls greatest ally or
worst detriment! - Why such a stern warning! (I Cor. 1533)
 - We do not have to wallow in mire of sin to
influence others for good! - Shine light on the darkness (Eph 511-13)
 - Solomons warning (Prov. 110, 15, 17)
 - Old associations find it strange that we dont
run with them! (I Pet. 44)
12- In regard to these, they think it strange that
you do not run with them in the same flood of
dissipation, speaking evil of you. - I Peter 44

  13We Have Changed Relationships
- Is not a matter of losing relationships, we
gain so much more! (Eph 219)
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,
but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and
are of Gods household.
 14We Live With New Purpose!
- As everything else changes, so does our purpose
with which we live! (Eph 23) - Previously Lived to gratify own desires
 - Not just sexual sins! (Gal. 519)
 - So habitual, this lifestyle became their nature!
  - How we ONCE walked! (Eph 421-24)

  15We Live With New Purpose!
- Now governed by new principles, desires, and
goals! - Position has changed! (Eph. 25-6)
 - Our purpose is now with Christ! (Col 31ff)

16- Therefore if you have been raised up with
Christ, keep seeking the things above, where
Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set
your mind on the things above, not on the things
that are on earth. For you have died and your
life is hidden with Christ in God. - Col 31-3

  17We Live With New Purpose!
- Now governed by new principles, desires, and
goals! - Position has changed! (Eph. 25-6)
 - Our purpose is now with Christ! (Col 31ff)

- Our whole life is governed by our desire to
please Him our heart being with Him - A difference in mindsets (Romans 85-8)
 - A battle rages in us! The side we feed the
most is the one thatll win! (Gl 516-17)
  18Conclusion
- Am I living the life of a new creature?
 - Do I walk a new walk in righteousness?
 - Do I serve the Lord and righteousness or the
devil and sin? - Do I conduct myself among sons of
disobedience or children of God? - Do I live with the purpose of pleasing self or
the Lord? - Do I live as if I were still dead?

  19Are You Weighed Down?
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you
and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in
heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
(Matthew 1128-30)
