Star-crossed Lovers

• The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is the story of
  star-crossed lovers, two young people whose love
  and marriage are doomed as soon as they have
  begun.
• Their families, the Montagues and the Capulets,
  have maintained a blood feud in Verona, Italy,
  for many years, and members of each family have
  been killed by members of the other in a
  never-ending cycle of murder for revenge.

What does it mean?

• In Elizabethan times many people believed that
  the positions of the stars and other heavenly
  bodies influenced events and peoples lives on
  Earth.
• At the moment when each of us was born, the stars
  and planets were all aligned in a unique way.
  According to astrology, thats what makes each of
  us different.

• The stars do change in regular ways with the
  seasons. So, astrologers divide the year into 12
  periods associated with the appearance of certain
  constellations, or groups of stars, just like we
  have 12 months in a year. These are the tweve
  astrological signs. All the people born under a
  certain sign are believed to have similar
  qualities.

• Astrologers also believe that some signs are more
  compatible than others and so, two people can be
  star-crossd if their signs are not compatible.
