Writing the successful application

• Have your project well thought out before you
  start.
• What you want your project to achieve.
• Needs of the school, students and
  community.
• People you need to talk to.
• Staff commitment, time and energy.
• How you will go about it.

• Check you are an eligible applicantSome grants
  are not available to schools directly, however P
  Cs are profitable organisations which allows
  you to access grants through them.
• Check that your proposed activities are eligible
  for funding.
• Read guidelines carefully! Seek others opinions
  and advice if you are unsure.

• 4. Apply for any permits (health, planning,
  building) prior to submitting application.These
  can take time to process so best to do prior to
  application.
• Consult with local experts and community
  including indigenous community about grant.

• Read the fine print carefully. Check and
  recheck your information
• Contributions- check whether school has to
  contribute to total costs.Some grants require
  extra dollars or in-kind (volunteer labour, use
  of equipment) from the school.

  sending in application to unsure necessary funds
  and setup cost centers.

• Collect quotes with at least 3 months validation
  dates.
• Check quality of application.Head of English
  etc, Correct grammar and sentence structure is
  crucial to a great application

• Many organizations dont understand EQ Jargon, so
  dont use it in application.
• Explain acronyms clearly.
• Dont overuse them.

Dates, copies and signatures

• Check dates
• Make your all PARTIES sign in the appropriate
  places.
• Make sure you mail applications at least one week
  before closing dates.
• Keep at least 3 copies of application.
