• About 40 short half-day and full day courses
• Largely anticipated and satisfy the IUA Skills
  Statement
• Issue of monitoring these which student has

• Need to supply a detailed Transcript / Diploma
  Supplement

• Domain specific modules are being delivered or
  being developed within departments and Faculties
• These go through the UL accreditation process
• Writing Science and Engineering via web cast
  from UL delivered to TCD and Tyndall Institute
  (UCC) available as video-link

Accreditation ECTS

• Currently in progress
• UL APRC (Academic Programme Review Committee)
• Courses are grouped according to skill set e.g.
  communication skills, into modules of 3 and 6
  ECTS
• Will be delivered in flexible format and timing
• Students will register for these modules.
• Assessment by portfolio

• Spin off company from Imperial College London
• Over 60 universities involved in UK, IRL and
  worldwide
• Important for training part-time and off-campus
  PGRs
• Can be delivered through institutions VLE
  (Sulis-Sakai in UL)
• Can be monitored student use can be verified

Monitoring

• Graduate School will monitor the skills suite of
  courses
• Once students complete a module, this will be
  reported to the central university student
  records system
• Central System will produce transcript
