  • dowry- when someone, typically the bride, brings
    money and valuables to her husband at marriage a
    sign of wealth
  • dowdy- describes a person who is not very stylish
    or neat usually refers to how someone looks
  • ecstatically- describes how a person who is
    extremely happy says or does something
  • ardently- describes how a person says or does
    something to another in a passionate and warm
    way very strong emotion
  • enraptured- when someone is filled with happiness
    or delight
  • homage- when someone pays respect to something
    publicly

  • catastrophe- when something is a complete failure
    or becomes a big problem
  • exorbitant- when someone goes beyond what is
    reasonably expected
  • fortitude- when someone is able to handle a
    horrible situation with courage

  • Explanation- People could use this word to
    compliment another. Some things that can be
    resplendent someones smile, a ring, the way
    someone looks.

  • when something is not in order or it is messy
  • Explanation- Somewhat like the word ravages
    except with less massive destruction. If the
    wind messes up someones hair and clothing, they
    can look disheveled. Your bedroom can be
    disheveled if you never clean it.
