• The dividend is the number inside the box.
• The divisor is the number outside the box.

Dividing Decimals by Whole Numbers

• First place the decimal point directly above the
  decimal point in the dividend.
• Then divide as with whole numbers.

Dividing by Decimals

• Change the divisor into a whole number by moving
  the decimal.
• Then move the decimal the same number of places
  in the dividend.
• Divide as with whole numbers.
