Getting Control of My Mind

• 1. Were engaged in an Invisible War with
  Eternal Implications.
• Ephesians 610-12 10 Finally, be strong in the
  Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full
  armor of God so that you can take your stand
  against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle
  is not against flesh and blood, but against the
  rulers, against the authorities, against the
  powers of this dark world and against the
  spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

• Seen Reality Physical World
• 2 Corinthians 418 So we fix our eyes not on what
  is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen
  is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

• 2 Kings 615-17 15 When the servant of the man of
  God got up and went out early the next morning,
  an army with horses and chariots had surrounded
  the city. "Oh, my lord, what shall we do?" the
  servant asked. 16 "Don't be afraid," the prophet
  answered. "Those who are with us are more than
  those who are with them." 17 And Elisha prayed,
  "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the
  LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and
  saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire
  all around Elisha.

• 2 Corinthians 44 The god of this age has blinded
  the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see
  the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,
  who is the image of God.
• 2 Corinthians 113 But I am afraid that just as
  Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your
  minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere
  and pure devotion to Christ.

• 3. Half-truths, Lies, Suggestions, etc. are
  Planted in the Mind
• Produces spiritual blindness (affecting truth)
• 2 Corinthians 44 The god of this age has blinded
  the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see
  the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,
  who is the image of God.

• Deceive, Defile, Discourage and Destroy
• Genesis 34 "You will not surely die," the
  serpent said to the woman.

• Sin Builds Footholds Strongholds in our lives

Foothold Stronghold

• Ephesians 426-27 26 "In your anger do not sin"
  Do not let the sun go down while you are still
  angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
• 2 Corinthians 104 The weapons we fight with are
  not the weapons of the world. On the contrary,
  they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

  for it is the wellspring of life.

• Ephesians 613 Therefore put on the full armor of
  God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may
  be able to stand your ground, and after you have
  done everything, to stand.

• 2 Corinthians 105 We demolish arguments and
  every pretension that sets itself up against the
  knowledge of God, and we take captive every
  thought to make it obedient to Christ.

• John 831-32 31 To the Jews who had believed him,
  Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are
  really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the
  truth, and the truth will set you free."

• Participate in Spiritual Disciplines
• Obeying Bible Prayer Serving Giving
  Reaching
• Colossians 32 Set your minds on things above,
  not on earthly things.

• Remember His Sacrifice
• Colossians 113-14 13 For he (Christ) has rescued
  us from the dominion of darkness and brought us
  into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom
  we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Lets Remember His Sacrifice Together!

• Mark 1422-25 22 While they were eating, Jesus
  took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it
  to his disciples, saying, "Take it this is my
  body." 23 Then he took the cup, gave thanks and
  offered it to them, and they all drank from it.
  24 "This is my blood of the covenant, which is
  poured out for many," he said to them. 25 "I tell
  you the truth, I will not drink again of the
  fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it
  anew in the kingdom of God."
