A.P. HORTICULTURE- SALIENT FEATURES
  • A.P. Government has declared HOTICULTURE as
    thrust area.
  • Horticulture area in the state has increased from
    3.70 lakh ha.during 1981-82 to
    15.79 lakh ha. during 2004-05 and
    the sector benefits about 8 Lakh families.
  • Andhra Pradesh exported Horticulture produce for
    more than Rs.800 Crores during 2004-05.
  • Horticulture sector contributes 3.7 to GSDP.

    77.35 lakh m.tonnes)

    9.6 lakh m.tonnes)

    and oilpalm,
  • - 2nd in mango.
  • - 3rd in tapioca.
  • - 4th in sapota, onion, tomato and loose flowers

    NHM.

  • Krishna, Nellore, Chittoor, Medak,
