  people like the Annual Health Forum participants
• To solicit suggestions for enhancing the work in
  progress

Situation of Health Publications in Sri Lanka

• Many Health publications are produced each year
• These publications are available at different
  sites/libraries
• No single source of information on all the
  publications
• Many people are not are on the information
  published

• Even when a publication is available,
  accessibility is a problem
• Traveling and time especially for users out of
  Colombo
• Library membership Most libraries are
  accessible only to the members
• Reference material not given out- Most of us do
  not have time to sit down and read a book at a
  library
• Photocopying- It is always not possible to make
  a copy of the materials

Objective of the project

• To promote knowledge management and sharing
  through development of a searchable database on
  available health-related publications

Process

• Health publications are compiled into a single
  searchable database.
• The database is web based and can be easily
  accessed by users.

• Identification of all available health
  publications published during the period and it
  will be a continued process
• Scanning the hardcopies or securing electronic
  files of the documents
• Uploading the materials to the software designed
  for the purpose

• Bibliography of Medicine , S.R. Korale 1981-
  1988, Health Literature Library and Information

• Bibliography by University of Colombo and Kandy
  Medical Society
• Bibliographies for NCD-related studies done at
  the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine,
