• Today SystemC synthesis subset ? HDL
  synthesis subsets
• why should anyone use it for synthesis at this
  level?
• Extending the synthesis subset by OO features
  seems to be a logical step
• high level spec. ?synthesisable
  spec.

Why?

• Without improved synthesis techniques, SystemC
  will remain only a design space exploration
  language

• Is this something designers really need/want?
• It is not the only possible approach to
  object-oriented HW design
• what about structural object-orientation?
• Efficiency is absolutely crucial
• designers dont want to waste a single gate or
  cycle!
• There is still some way to go ...
• It may be prototypic, but it works, and offers a
  high potential for improvements and extensions
