Jim Crow

• Jim Crow was not a real person.

  passed Anti-African legislation.

• Black and whites could not go to the same
  restroom.
• No black or white could be together in reform
  school.
• A black man couldnt play pool with a white man.
• Blacks and whites couldn't drink from the same
  water fountain.
• Black and white children couldnt play together.

• No black barber could cut a white woman or girls
  hair.
• No white person and black person could marry each
  other.
• No black or white person could share the same
  textbook.
• Blacks and whites could not use the same ticket
  booth.
• A white woman did not have to take care of a
  black man in a hospital.

Civil Rights Act

• The Civil Rights Act made racial discrimination
  in public places illegal.
• Lyndon Baines Johnson persuaded Congress to pass
  the Civil Right Act.
• The Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964.
